This worksheet helps prepare a document review. The final filing and bank requirements depend on the investor and transaction.

Confirm the required Australian record and its certification format before booking a DFAT apostille. Australia and India are both parties to the Apostille Convention, so documents for India need an apostille, not legalisation. The Indian filing professional and bank may request different supporting evidence.

Document groupPreparation question
Corporate investorWhich registration record, constitution and investment approval identify the Australian parent?
Public documentIs the original eligible for a direct DFAT apostille?
Private document or copyDoes it need an Australian Notary Public before DFAT can apostille it?
Director evidenceDo the passport, residential address and signing details match the Indian application?

DFAT apostilles eligible Australian public documents and copies notarised by Australian Notary Publics. It asks applicants to confirm the overseas recipient's requirements first. Check the accepted form before treating an ordinary certified copy as sufficient.

For example, a registration record and a privately signed investment resolution should be reviewed separately. Ask which originals must travel to India after the electronic filing set is approved.
