WHAT YOU GET
Financial statements tell part of the story. Management also needs to know why margins moved, where cash is tied up and which decisions cannot wait. We build the reporting routine around those questions.
Understand performance through a consistent monthly pack, with explanations behind the numbers.
Plan collections, payroll, vendor payments and funding needs using explicit assumptions.
Compare budgets and scenarios before committing to hiring, spending or expansion.
THE WORK, MADE VISIBLE
Agree what is prepared, what your team supplies and how the work is reviewed.
| Workstream | What we prepare | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly performance | Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash movement and budget variances | Management has a consistent basis for discussion |
| Working capital | Receivables, payables, collection assumptions and upcoming commitments | The team can assign actions before cash becomes tight |
| Group reporting | Mapping between Indian accounts and the parent reporting pack | Local records and group reporting can be reconciled |
| Planning | Base and downside scenarios with named assumptions | Changes in hiring, pricing or funding can be compared |
HOW WE WORK
The engagement starts with your records and priorities. Each stage has a defined next step.
Review the latest accounts, systems, reconciliations and reporting gaps. Separate reliable information from balances that need investigation.
Choose the measures, format, responsible people and review dates. Start with the decisions the management team needs to make.
Coordinate the agreed inputs and review exceptions. Explain material changes and track the next actions.
Refresh cash assumptions and forecasts. Discuss decisions, document ownership and follow up at the next review.
BUILD THE RIGHT ENGAGEMENT
A parent reporting pack does not replace the Indian books. We help reconcile the local accounts with the parent's chart of accounts, reporting currency and intercompany records. Agree the required reporting basis and adjustments at the start.
Coordinate equity, loan and service payments with the relevant FEMA and transfer pricing workstreams. A cash forecast should reflect the time needed for approvals and banking requirements.
A business building its finance function may first need reliable reconciliations and a close calendar. A growing team may need budgets, working capital reviews and board reporting. Define the immediate priorities before expanding the scope.
Bookkeeping, payroll operations, historical clean up, fundraising support and transaction diligence should be listed separately when required. A CFO retainer is most useful when responsibilities are clear.
The proposal reflects the entity count, transaction volume, systems, condition of the records and meeting cadence. It states the reporting deliverables, source information your team supplies and how additional work is agreed.
Bring the latest management accounts, a summary of the business and the financial questions you cannot currently answer with confidence.
YOUR QUESTIONS
Clear expectations make a better engagement.
No. The engagement provides an agreed level of finance leadership and reporting support. The company retains its management, board and approval responsibilities.
We can scope a reporting pack around the parent's requirements. We first review the chart of accounts, systems, currency and adjustments needed to reconcile it with the Indian books.
Only where included in the proposal. We can coordinate bookkeeping and monthly reporting together, or work with your existing finance team.
The company retains payment authorisation. Statutory reports requiring a qualified signatory remain with the separately appointed professional. We prepare and coordinate the agreed supporting work.
