# Singapore to India document planning checklist

Prepared by Krystal7 Consultants. Reviewed 22 Sep 2026.

This worksheet helps prepare a document review. The final filing and bank requirements depend on the investor and transaction.

Separate public company records from private documents before booking legalisation. The Singapore Academy of Law, or SAL, treats these categories differently.

| Document group | Preparation question |
|---|---|
| Company registration records | Is the record an original public document or a computer generated copy needing certification? |
| Constitution and resolution | Does a Singapore notary need to certify the document before SAL legalisation? |
| Signatory evidence | Do the board approval and identity records name the same authorised person? |
| Ownership file | Does the ownership chart explain any intermediate holding companies to the Indian bank? |

SAL accepts eligible public documents directly. Private documents normally need notarial preparation first. Check the required version of an electronic company record before treating a downloaded file as ready for apostille.

For example, the company record and a privately signed board resolution may need different preparation. Have the Indian filing professional approve both formats before signing or paying for certification.
