# Germany to India document planning checklist

Prepared by Krystal7 Consultants. Reviewed 22 Sep 2026.

This worksheet helps prepare a document review. The final filing and bank requirements depend on the investor and transaction.

Build the file around the German parent's exact registered name and signing authority. A GmbH should reconcile its commercial register extract with the proposed investment approval.

| Document group | Preparation question |
|---|---|
| Commercial register extract | Does the Handelsregisterauszug show the current company details and representation arrangements? |
| Investment approval | Which corporate approval is required, and who may sign for the parent? |
| Apostille routing | Is the document federal, a state record or a notarial act, and which authority handles that category? |
| English translation | Does the translation cover the document, certification and relevant attachments required by the Indian recipient? |

Germany divides apostille responsibilities between federal and state authorities. The competent office depends on the document category. Confirm that office before sending a commercial register extract and a notarial document together.

Complete the document review before fixing an incorporation date. Name approval, incorporation review, bank checks and capital reporting are separate stages with different dependencies.

For example, compare the register's representation wording with the proposed resolution before collecting signatures. Resolve a mismatch before translation and certification costs arise.
